Play Alberta may provide scores and other statistics regarding an Event during play. This information may feature a delay and as such is intended as a guide and for convenience to the Players. The data is delivered via third party sources, and such there may be discrepancies between Event information displayed and the settlement. The settlement rules in these Play Alberta Game Conditions will remain final.
Wagers placed during a game will be subject to a timed delay before being accepted. If the Selection is suspended completely then the wager will be rejected. If the odds change then the wager will be re-offered with the updated odds. Play Alberta reserves the right to set this time delay at any value it deems reasonable, and this can be changed anytime whatsoever without notice.
Wager Limits
Play Alberta, in its sole discretion, has the right, at any time and without notice, to increase or decrease the limit on wagers that will be accepted on any given Selection or combination of Selections.
Withholding Payments
Play Alberta reserves the right to withhold payment and to declare bets on an event void if Play Alberta, in its sole discretion, believes that the integrity of the event may be called into question.
The Result
The Result of each Event shall be determined solely by Play Alberta. Play Alberta does not recognize protests, overturned decisions or amended Results. Once Play Alberta has entered the Result into its central computer system it shall be final and binding, without right of appeal. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Play Alberta, in its sole discretion and to ensure the integrity of Play Alberta, reserves the right to update or amend the Result of any Event at any time including, but not limited to, after such time as the Result has been entered into Play Alberta’s central computer system.
Dead-Heats
If a Dead-Heat between two or more Selections is declared on any Market as the official Result, unless stated otherwise, the wager is subject to a Dead-Heat reduction. This means the value of the wager is reduced by the following fraction: the number of winning places divided by the number of winning Selections.
For example, a $30 wager on a Golfer to finish in the Top 5 of the leader board at odds of 4.00 would be settled as follows in the various scenarios.
(i) Golfer ties for 5th position with one other player. In this case, one place is shared between two winning Selections, so the value of the wager is reduced to ½ of the original value. Wager after Dead-Heat reduction becomes $15 at 4.00.
(ii) Golfer ties for 5th position with two other players. In this case, one place is shared between the players, so the value of the wager is reduced to 1/3 of the original value. Wager after Dead-Heat reduction becomes $10 at 4.00.
(iii) Golfer ties with two other golfers for 4th place. In this case, two places are shared between three winning Selections, so the value of the wager is to 2/3 of the original value. Wager after Dead-Heat reduction becomes $20 at 4.00.
Enhanced Odds
Play Alberta may sometimes offer enhanced odds for Parlays. Any Non-Starters on such Parlays will result in the entire wager being Void. Parlays with enhanced odds may not be combined with another Selection.
Related Events
Parlays are not accepted on Related Outcomes. However, Combined odds may be available, which will apply to selected Parlays.
By way of example.
(i) Soccer Team to win and over 2.5 goals to be scored (in the same match)
(ii) Golfer to win all four major championships.
If a Parlay on related Events is accepted in error, then Play Alberta reserves the right to Void the wager.
Venue Changes
If the designated home team changes for a match, then all wagers placed based on the original Event will be made Void, unless stated otherwise stated by Play Alberta.
Postponed/Abandoned/Forfeited Matches
If a match is postponed ahead of the original start time and not started within 36 hours of this time then all wagers will be Void, unless stated otherwise in a sport’s specific rules.
If a match is abandoned after starting, and not resumed within 36 hours of the original start time, all Un-Predetermined wagers will, unless stated otherwise under sport specific rules, be Voided unless an official Result is declared. Wagers on all Markets which have been Unconditionally Determined will Stand, for example if First Touchdown-Scorer wagers have already been settled at the time of the abandonment. If the score at the time of an abandonment or forfeit means a natural conclusion to the Market predetermines the Result, then the Market will be settled as per this predetermined Result. For example, a Tennis match is abandoned with score at 6-4, 3-3 in the second set, then Over/Under Games Markets with a line up to and including 18.5 would be settled as ‘Over’ being the winner and ‘Under’ being the loser.
Winning Margins
Unless stated otherwise, all 'Winning Margins' bets are settled within regulation time only.
Odd/Even Markets
For the purposes of Odd/Even Markets, zero counts as an even number.
Time Based Markets
For settlement purposes time-based Markets are quoted based on the clock counting from 00:00, regardless of the sport and the clock direction of any other source. This means the first minute of the game will be from 1 second to 59 seconds, the 2nd minute from 1 minute to 1 minute 59 seconds and so on.
For example, if a wager is placed on the first goal to be scored between 1 and 5 minutes in a Hockey match, and the first goal is scored at 5 minutes 03 seconds; the wager will be a loser as this falls within the 6 to 10 minutes category.
Half-Time / Full-Time
Settlement for Half-Time / Full-Time Markets are provided upon predicting the Result at half time, and at Full-Time. Full-Time refers to the end of Regulation Time, the Result after Overtime is not considered. Any other specific description of this Market will be explained in specific sport rules.
Asian Handicaps and Over/Under
For Asian Handicap and Asian Over/Under Markets, depending on the Selection of the wager and Result there is the possibility for a full win, full loss, Push, half win (half Push) and half loss (half Push). Examples of the types of Asian Handicap lines offered and settlement can be seen in the table below.

Futures
These are generic rules for Futures Markets and will Stand across all sports unless superseded by any further rules on Futures Markets within a specific sport.
Wagers on Futures Markets include playoffs and any official tie-breaks where applicable, unless otherwise specified.
Wagers on Futures Markets are accepted under the Non-Starter No-Wager rule. If a Selection withdraws after taking any part of the Event, then the Selection is officially declared a starter and would be settled as a loser.
All wagers on Futures Markets Stand regardless of any changes to season lengths or formats, team name changes or team location, unless otherwise specified and as long as there is an official Result declared.
Futures Markets on Over/Under games won in a season are settled on regular season games only, and do not include any playoffs. See individual sport rules for requirements on minimum number of games played.
Any points penalties incurred at any stage before the end of the scheduled season are included for settlement purposes as per official league Standings. Any subsequent demotions or points deductions after the last game of the season/competition will not apply.
Baseball
If a Baseball game does not start on its scheduled start date, then all wagers shall be Void.
In the case of a suspended MLB game, all bets will stand until there is an official result, if the game has been resumed within 72 hours of suspension. If It has not been resumed by this point, then bets will be settled as per general Baseball settlement rules.
If abandoned after the match has started, the following applies to the Moneyline Market.
A game must go five full innings (or 4 ½ if the home team is ahead and a game is abandoned in the bottom of the 5th inning) for Action to count.
If abandoned after five innings have been completed, all wagers on the Moneyline Market are settled by the score at the end of the last completed inning, unless the home team is ahead, in which case the result will be determined by the official result of the game. Any other undetermined Markets will be Void.
When wagering on Over/Under or Run Line Markets, the game must go to nine innings (complete) (eight and a half if the home team is ahead) to Stand. An exception to this rule for Over/Under markets is where the game total has already gone over, (if game total has already gone over the quoted total, then bets on the over will be settled as winners, with bets on the under settled as losers) or where the natural conclusion of the game would have meant the outcome of the total quoted would be determined, e.g. MLB game is abandoned at 5-5, bets on Over 10 or 10.5 would be settled as winners, with bets on Under 10 or 10.5 being settled as losers, since any natural conclusion to the match would have at least 11 runs. Specifically for MLB Pre-season matches settlement will be based on 9 innings only, in instances when the natural conclusion rule could apply.
